On September 9, when Apple releases iPhone update 3.1, most of the new iPhone users who don’t know much about unlocking, upgraded their firmware to official iTunes update 3.1 and lost their unlocks as their baseband updated to 05.11.07. Dev-Team releases the tools to jailbreak but not to unlock. GeoHot also releases the jailbreak for iPhone and iPod Touch. After that he said he is not working on unlock. But after sometime he started work on unlock and finally the Genius GeoHot posted the Video of the World’s first unlocked iPhone with baseband 05.11.07.
In a new post on GeoHot’s blog he said:
“I have an unlock for 05.11.07. I will be releasing on 11/04/09, for $0.00″
He also said:
“get the word out…if you are paying for an unlock or jailbreak you are buying freeware, making you an idiot”
He clearly said don’t pay for any jailbreak or unlock because all are free of cost. He said all the jailbreaks are made by either me (GeoHot) or Dev-Team. All other are fake. And all those who are selling the jailbreaks and unlocks in $$ they are giving our software by making some changes in them. He said some have bought their unlocks for baseband 05.11.07 but nothing was there, just saying unlocks are still in development.
