Apple cuts iPod prices before event

Apple has lowered the prices of its existing iPods in its store today. That has enabled us to get a much clearer image about what is going to happen in the music event that is just hours away.

iPod Touch with 8GB of memory has dropped from $229 to $189; the 16GB model will now take you back $249, compared to the previous $299, while the 32GB model is a full 120 dollars cheaper, dropping from $279 to $399. Furthermore, the 8GB model of iPod nano has had its price cut from $149 to $129, the 16GB nano has dropped from $199 to $149, and finally, the iPod classic now costs $229 instead of the previous $249.

Its quite a high price cut made by Apple and it has also gave birth to many questions about the music event today and we simply can’t tell exactly what Apple is going to throw at us. Whatever it is, this is good news even if you don’t like the new models, you can still pick up some of the old ones for a significantly lower price.

This move of Apple has also given it an upper hand over Zune HD coming next week.
