Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft has recently joined Twitter. His first updates on Twitter were about the crisis in Haiti. You can start following him here @BillGates. The account is real as confirmed by Twitter officials. The account has growth very rapidly with 100,000 followers in just few hours. Currently he is having 218,844 followers and the number is growing with every page refresh!
Bill Gates has also rejoined Facebook now which he left last year saying “It was just way too much trouble so I gave it up”. He quit Facebook last year due to immense number of requests he was getting from his fans but now he has rejoined because now their is no need to comfirm any requests because anyone can follow him without any action required on his part. He has 56,892 fans on Facebook at the moment.
It seems that Bill Gates has finally understood the importance of Social Networks and we might see more activities from him and latest updates live from the world’s richest man. He isn’t the first high-profile tech figure to join Twitter. Recently Google CEO Eric Schmidt joined the service. Bill Gates is currently following Ashley Tisdale, Queen Rania of Jordan and Microsoft as well 
I was wondering when would Steve Jobs from Apple join these social networks and will interact with his fans as we know he is much more popular and has more following then the Bill Gates and if he gets his hands on Twitter then they would have to do something solid to avoid the whale image appear on our screens
