Finally Android users can enjoy the new typing experience, as Swype Keyboard for their devices is now available. A blog DroidMuff.in got the beta of Swype and uploaded it for all Android users. Using Swype you can type without lifting your finger from the screen, a best feature is that it put the space between words automatically. One thing to remember that Swype for Android won’t work on all Android devices. Its only work on WVGA Devices like Motorola Droid and SonyEricsson Xperia X3. Sorry for HTC Hero and Droid Eris users. (Now available for Droid Eris,Motorola Cliq and other HVGA devices here)
Follow the steps to install Swype on your Android device:
- Download and install the Astro file manager from the Android Market.
- Download the Swype beta file here.
- Unzip that file, which will give you a file named “[mfhs]Swype-SwypeReference-WVGA854-trial-release.0.35.3959.apk”.
- Copy the APK file to your handset’s SD card.
- On your Android handset, go to Settings > Applications > and check the box next toUnknown Sources.
- Use Astro to browse for the apk file on your SD card, install it.
- Go to Settings > Language and Keyboard. Enable the Swype keyboard.
- Now you can switch between Standard and Swype Keyborad by tapping-and-holding on any text input field.
- Enjoy the new way of typing!
