Apple posts iPad iOS 4.2 software update page

Apple has posted a page on its official website that reminds the iPad users about the upcoming update that will bring some new features for the iPad. The iOS 4.2 update will be given in November for free to the iPad users, iOS 4.2 will bring multitasking, home screen folders, wireless document printing, AirPlay (streaming audio/video), Game Center, a unified inbox, text search in the Safari web browser, as well as a handful of other modifications.

SwirlyScreen updated to 2.1 supports iOS 4 Now

The SwirlyScreen has been updated to ver 2.1 and now it also supports iOS 4 . The cyget framework is not yet Compatible with iOS 4 although it works fine on it but you can’t Edit the Lock Cydget Order in the normal way on iOS4. You can get this app for 1.99$ from cydia on your Jailbroken iPhone. After installing Swirly screen you can chose any of the lock screen to be on top.

The Feature Provided by SwirlyScreen are

Collects and shows all alert messages, such as missed calls, SMS, MMS, calendar events, Facebook messages etc
Current weather and forecast
Analogue clock including a stop-watch
Random camera roll browsing
Shows time with seconds
Shows date with week

Google to Steve Jobs: We are actually activating 200,000 Androids everyday

Steve Jobs in the iPod event yesterday boosted that Apple is activating 230,000 iOS devices everyday, and not only that he also accused Google of counting software upgrades made on Android devices into number of activations made in a day. This is what Steve Jobs said “We think some of our friends are counting upgrades in their numbers,” with this statement he was referring to Eric Schmidt’s claim that his company’s open source mobile OS gets 200,000 activations on new devices per day.

Google has quickly responded to Apple’s statement and has confirmed that they are actually activation 200,000 per day. Below is the statement issue by a Google Spokesman to Fortune.

“The Android activation numbers do not include upgrades and are, in fact, only a portion of the Android devices in the market since we only include devices that have Google services.”

Steve Jobs in the official iPod event yesterday said that iPod Touch is the iPhone without calls and he meant it because when he announced the new features of iPod Touch it became very clear that the only difference between the iPod Touch 4G and the iPhone 4 is that iPod Touch cannot make calls, other than that iPod Touch has all the features that are sported by iPhone 4 such as Facetime, Retina display, camera, gaming and everything else. Apple yesterday revealed the latest iPod Nano and made it ultra small. The new iPod Nano television ads are now live on Apple.com and Apple’s official Youtube channel. The ad feature song that you might have heard before, the song in this ad is the theme song of NBC’s show Chuck i.e Cake’s Short Skirt/Long Jacket. Watch the ad embedded here.

All the new iPods are now available for preorder on Apple’s official website. The iPods can be preordered now and will be shiped in a week, the shipping will be free as usual. Here are the rates for different iPods Apple just announced.

As you can see above iPod Touch is available for preorder at the price of $229 for 8GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB model.

iPod Nano comes in two models and a wide range of colors and costs $149 for 8GB and $179 for 16GB model.

The new, colorful, clip-and-go iPod shuffle. With buttons, VoiceOver, and playlists, cost $49 for a 2GB model.

iTunes 10 now available for Mac and Windows

Apple has just released the 10th version of its online media store i.e. iTunes. This Version of iTunes brings Ping , TV show rentals, Airplay, improved syncing and more. According to the official site “Don’t just listen to music. Connect with it. iPod Touch 4G vs iPod Touch 3G

Above is a comparison table i have made to let everyone know about what changes have been made on the new iPod Touch announced by Apple, it now sports a 1.0 GHz processor, a front and rear camera, retina display, facetime, and has a better resolution. Although i can’t confirm about the Ram it sports, will try to confirm that soon.
