iPad now available for preorder…should we order now?

We reported earlier that Apple Store is down, which is Live now and has a new member in its list that is the ‘Apple iPad’. iPad is not available for sale yet but you can book yours that would be coming to you on its release date i.e 3rd April. But the question is should you book the new Apple product right away or should you wait for someone else to buy it so that you can check out its goods as well as its bads and then decide whether to buy it or not. Some factors that we should keep in mind are that there could be some price cuts after the release of this Apple product as we have seen in the past, and if you are not in hurry then you can wait for someone else to buy iPad so that you can compare it with other tablets in the market.

When Apple introduced the iPhone in 2007, it slashed the 8GB version’s $599 price tag to $399 just 10 weeks later and we might see the same thing with Apple iPad.

This is the first version and there’s a lot that has to be worked out, as reports are there that Apple might add camera and other feature to it in the future. Currently, the iPad has very few apps of its own. Most are iPhone apps that are designed for smaller screens so they would not be able to give us same functionality as they are designed tofor so if you’re looking at the iPad for the apps, hold off a month or two until developers can catch up and have an idea of the device itself rather than just working on SDK.

Apple iPad is available for booking at $499 for 16GB version with WiFi. 32GB and 64GB go for $599 and $699, respectively. (Later this spring, Apple plans to offer iPad models with both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity for $629, $729 and $829.)
