Are you a Dell Streak owner and are disappointed of running Cupcake on your device then worry no more as Greenarcher707 just ported Android 2.1 Eclair to his Unlocked Dell Streak. UK Streak owners already have got their hands on an Eclair beta and now you can do it too. He has posted the instructions and by following them you can get Eclair running on your Streak.

Here is a piece of hardware that looks like a Nokia N8 phone but unlike that it runs Android 2.1 instead of Symbian platform, This clone phone has a 3.5-inches WVGA touchscreen, and has a HDMI output, and gives a RockChip logo at the start up screen but we are not sure that it is actually powered with that chip or not. It sports a 5 Megapixel camera.

Above is a chart that tells us about the situation of Android versions on devices. At the moment 59.7% of the total Android devices are powered by Android 2.1, previously this figure was 55.5 percent. Android 2.2 that is popularly known as Froyo currently powers 4.5% of the total devices and 35% is of all the devices is powered by older version i.e 20% for Android 1.6 and 15% for Android 1.5.

As you might have read Verizon has finally given Android 2.1 update to its users. You might have got the notification but in case you haven’t here is the way to do it. Android central has written the following procedure that will help you in updating your Droid to Android 2.1.

Motorola and Verizon as reported have given the official Android 2.1 update for Droid. A lot of people have received the notification that is asking them to upgrade. Hackers at xda forums have managed to put Android 2.1 ROM from Nexus One to HTC Magic (myTouch 3G) and HTC G1. It brings all the new features of Nexus One to your HTC Magic or G1. But still there are some problems like Video Camera is not working. Be ready to enjoy the all new features of Android. Hopefully they will fix the VideoCam problem as soon as possible.
