According to the above chart released by AndroidLib, a sum of 9308 apps have been added to the Android app list. Android market is increasing rapidly and with this growth we are seeing this platform by Google at the top of the world. Today Apple is going to reveal the new version of Android’s biggest rival i.e the iPhone OS. As we know that the quantity does not guarantee quality but with that much number of apps we must see Android as a major player in the market. Zooomer is an app developed by Bernd.M.Walter. Its an app for HTC HD2 that enables you to “pinch to zoom” in the programs you want. The software scans all .exe on the device. Just select the app you want to be zoom enabled and perform a softreset -after doing this the .exe is enabled for pinch to zoom! Currently only user installed (and some few built in) applications can be “zooom-enabled”.

Opera Software in a press release said that they have submitted Opera Mini app to Apple for approval. Opera Mini is 5 times faster than the iPhone’s Safari browser as you can see in the video below. So the question is that will Apple approve the Safari killer app? It will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.

HTC HD2 comes with Digital compass and calculates the deviation from magnetic north. Using this feature 6Fg8 a guy at xda-forums has developed Metal Detector app for HTC HD2. It only works with HTC HD 2. To install it you will need .NETCF3.5. Just download the .cab file and copy it to your SD card or Phone memory and run the App. Currently the App is in beta and will be more accurate on further developments.
