Facebook has released SDK for Android. The Official Facebook SDK for Android developers was released yesterday,  that will allow communication between native Android apps and the Facebook social network. One feature that the Android edition of the SDK has that the iPhones version lacks is the Graph API that was displayed at Facebook’s f8 developer’s conference. The Android SDK also includes the latest installment of OAuth authentication, version 2.0, which enables the user to publish stories to Facebook via Feed forms. SDK will give Android developers even more room to develop and explore new horizons.

Youtube has been blocked in Pakistan due to some sacrilegious caricatures of Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H) on the site as told by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority official. The blockage came after hours Pakistan authorities directed ISPs to stop public’s access to Facebook due to online draw Muhammad competition. The competition’s fan page on Facebook is itself violation of Facebook’s own policies against the spread of hatred and violation and violation of human rights pertaining to one’s religion. Youtube was also blocked back in 2007 due to similar issue.

The blockage of Youtube will have a impact on overall transfer of data of the country as  it eats upto 20 to 25 percent of country’s total traffic

Update: We are now getting news that PTA has also blocked , Flickr and Wikipedia as well including thousand other websites over blasphemous content.

With the firmware update 4.3 Microsoft promised about the availability of HQ games and apps for Zune HD. Today Microsoft releases the Facebook app for their music player Zune HD. The app is pretty solid.  Twitter app for Zune HD is already available. To install the apps you will need the firmware 4.3 installed on your Zune HD. Download the app directly from Market Place or using the Zune Desktop client.

Microsoft releases Silverlight 4 beta Client for Facebook. The app is available for both Windows and Mac OS. Facebook client allows you to explore your Facebook account in a beautiful animated way without running a web browser. You can access the photos, feeds, events, friends’ walls, and inbox mail from your Facebook account. Before installing Facebook client you must install Silverlight 4 beta if not already installed.

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft has recently joined Twitter. His first updates on Twitter were about the crisis in Haiti. You can start following him here @BillGates. The account is real as confirmed by  Twitter officials. The account has growth very rapidly with 100,000 followers in just few hours. Currently he is having 218,844 followers and the number is growing with every page refresh!

Bill Gates has also rejoined Facebook now which he left last year saying “It was just way too much trouble so I gave it up”. He quit Facebook last year due to immense number of requests he was getting from his fans but now he has rejoined because now their is no need to comfirm any requests because anyone can follow him without any action required on his part. He has 56,892 fans on Facebook at the moment.

It seems that Bill Gates has finally understood the importance of Social Networks and we might see more activities from him and latest updates live from the world’s richest man. He isn’t the first high-profile tech figure to join Twitter. Recently Google CEO Eric Schmidt joined the service. Bill Gates is currently following Ashley Tisdale, Queen Rania of Jordan and Microsoft as well

I was wondering when would Steve Jobs from Apple join these social networks and will interact with his fans as we know he is much more popular and has more following then the Bill Gates and if he gets his hands on Twitter then they would have to do something solid to avoid the whale image appear on our screens

Facebook is one of the most prominent social network on the Internet and Facebook team is always busy in working to facilitate its users by introducing new features although all of them are not too good but still they are committed. Now we have the news that Facebook is testing a new feature these days that is “Mark you don’t know” feature. Here’s how it works, have you ever received a friend request from a person whom you don’t want in your friend list and you simply ignore his/her request and forget about it, then after some days the same person requests you again thinking that you would add him/her this time and this gets annoying when you receive such requests often.

So Facebook has come up with a feature by using which Once you mark “ignore” on a friend request, you’ll see a new option in addition to being able to report the person for abuse or spam: “Mark that you don’t know” them.

As we know that Facebook does inform you whether the person you sent request has rejected so people don’t get the hint and send multiple requests to the person who they want to add without knowing that they have been rejected. The new feature will allow you to block friend requests from such persons. Like the long-time option of blocking all application notifications from a friend, it’s another way to reduce the social spam generated by poor etiquette on social networks.

This is what a Facebook spokesman said about the new feature

“Our security team is currently just testing this feature to help inform certain limits on friend requests and combat spam,”

This feature would be helpful in saving Facebook from spammers and scammer who due to large no of users target Facebook for their unlawful activities. this points to another use for the “mark you don’t know.” If used by enough people, it could help alert Facebook to problem profiles early on before they can cause too much damage.

As we had informed you yesterday that “Twitter App for Zune HD is coming tomorrow”. Now the app is live for the download. You can download the app using Zune Desktop Client for your Zune HD. The app requires the latest firmware (v4.3) installed in your Zune HD. So, before installing the app make sure that your Zune HD is running firmware 4.3. You can find the app by running Zune Client then click on Marketplace now click on apps.
