A video posted on YouTube has revealed new brand logos and motto of Microsoft. Video includes a new motto “Be What’s Next” and all new Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox, Bing and Office logos. We are not sure if these are going to be the new logos of Microsoft or are just used for the promo at MGX (Microsoft Global Exchange).

Update: Engadget has just been contacted by Microsoft and told that these are not new logos which will be used on products, rather a standalone treatment to show the flexibility of joined brands. However, the “Be What’s Next” tagline is real, and will be showing up here and there.

Microsoft finally understands its mistake and  removes the “Series” from Windows Phone 7. Maybe it was too long and wasn’t making any sense. So from now the Official name will be Windows Phone 7 a simple, logical and the one people want. Microsoft tweeted about the dropping of “Series” from Windows Phone 7 you can see the Official tweet here.

Recently we posted about the appearance of Zune HD 64GB link on Official Zune site. Today Microsoft announces the Zune HD 64GB. Zune HD 64 will be launched on April 12 for $349.99. Also $20 price cut will be applied to 16 and 32GB Models. Still no confirmed date about the update v4.5. But expect the availability of update in coming days. New price for Zune HD 16GB is $199.99 and for 32GB it is $269.99. You will be able to customize your Zune HD 64GB through ZuneOrginals, with choice of Platinum, Black, Blue, Red, Green, Purple and Magenta colors.

An exciting news for Zune HD users,  v4.5 firmware update is going to hit the shelves soon, which will bring exciting features like  SmartDJ, new codecs, and Marketplace access via AV dock to your Zune HD. In an interview with Marketing Manager Michael Yaeger Engadget asked about Mac support and worldwide release of Zune HD but no clear answer by Manager. Still the ETA for the update 4.5 is unknown.Yesterday we reported that Zune HD 64GB makes appearance on Official Zune site but the link was dead. Maybe a Zune HD 64GB will be coming with the new update!

Zune HD official site is showing Zune HD 64 but the link is dead. It looks  like that Microsoft is going to release a Zune HD 64 GB. Or may be making Zune HD availability worldwide. Checkout the page showing Zune HD 64 here. We will update you as soon as we receive more details. So stay tuned.

After the announcement of Windows Phone 7 Series  Microsoft clearly said that there will be no update for HTC HD2. But hackers at htcpedia have successfully ported the Windows Phone 7 Series OS to HTC HD2. According to them everything like bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS is working properly but graphics driver is showing device lag. Beta ROM will be available soon, yes before any other WP7 Series device by Microsoft. For more details visit the the forum.

After the official announcement of Windows Phone 7 Series, SDKs and emulator for Windows Phone 7 Series were made available at Microsoft websites. But the official emulator allows a limited  access  only to Internet Explorer, and some settings. Now the hackers at xda-forums have managed to fully unlock the emulator using which you can use all the features of Windows Phone 7 Series. If you want to try it at your home just follow the easy steps given below.

  • Go here and click on the third tab (Visual Studio 2010 Express Beta 2) and download the Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone CTP.
  • Download the full emulator  hacked .bin from here.
  • Extract the file and rename the .bin file to “WM70C1.bin” and copy it.
  • Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\WindowsPhone\v7.0\Emulation\Images
  • Rename the existing WM70C1.bin to “WM70C1_old.bin”
  • Paste the downloaded file.
  • Now run the “Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone” from Start menu.
  • Click on “File” in the menu bar click on “New Project” , a window will be opened click “Ok”.
  • Wait for loading after that press “F5″ button from your keyboard.
  • Wait for Emulator to load.  Enjoy

Note: According to xda-forums you need to download “Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1″ but i have tested on Windows 7 Ultimate without downloading Windows SDK for Windows 7. Maybe Windows Xp users need that so you can download it from here.

Microsoft releases the early preview of Internet Explorer 9 at MIX10. Its not the complete UI of Internet Explorer 9, its just for the developers to see how performance, compatibility and standards support will be included in the final version. With the firmware update 4.3 Microsoft promised about the availability of HQ games and apps for Zune HD. Today Microsoft releases the Facebook app for their music player Zune HD. The app is pretty solid.  Twitter app for Zune HD is already available. To install the apps you will need the firmware 4.3 installed on your Zune HD. Download the app directly from Market Place or using the Zune Desktop client.
